After being Senior Vice President for 16 years at two major real estate firms in Atlanta, financier Kim King approached Jenny to create her own real estate endeavor. That vision has been realized in an enterprise now comprised of six offices, 450 sales associates, 75 support staff, listings of over $1 billion and annual sales at approximately $1.5 billion.
In October 2001, Jenny Pruitt & Associates was acquired by HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate (majority owned by Warren Buffet). Jenny remains President/CEO and continues to enjoy hands on management of the company.
Jenny is Past President of the Atlanta Board of REALTORS and was Atlanta’s Realtor of the Year in 1980. Her affiliations include Directorships of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Buckhead Coalition, and the Georgia Cancer Coalition. She is also on the Board of Chastain Horse Park and the Advisory Board for the Girl Scouts of America. Jenny was named Georgia Small Business Person of the Year and was inducted into the Georgia State Business Hall of Fame in 1999 along with Zell Miller and Ken Lewis. In 2003, Jenny received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Honorary Alumni Award from Georgia State University and last year she was inducted into the YWCA 2004 Academy of Women Achievers. Recently she was named one of the “100 Most Influential Georgians.”
Jenny was born and bred in Atlanta, is married with two daughters and seven grandchildren. The accomplishment for which Jenny Pruitt is held in highest esteem, ironically, is not the sheer magnitude of her success. It is that she attained success through her belief in honesty, human potential and the strength of relationships. She credits her success to her husband Bob, his encouragement and faith in her and her strong faith in God. Jenny says bottom line, if she is successful, it is because she has maintained an attitude and style of what she calls “SERVANT LEADERSHIP” as well as her belief in Proverbs 16:3 that says, “Commit your work to the Lord and then your plans will succeed.”
